Snoop's Take

This All-Clad roasting pan is engineered for serious cooks who demand a combination of robust construction and versatile roasting capability. It features a spacious 16x13x5 inch design with a nonstick rack that stands up to high heat and even prolonged use. User feedback, as ever in the culinary world, is a mixed bag: while one enthusiast noted, "Our All-Clad is 40+ yo and still looks and works great," others gripe about uneven heat distribution and problematic nonstick surfaces that can peel. Critics have also highlighted that despite its heavy-duty build, cleaning can require extra elbow grease, making the pan both a cherished heirloom and a bit of a maintenance headache. Overall, if you prize long-term durability and a capacity suited for grand feasts, this roaster earns its recommendation—just be ready to trade off some convenience in cleaning and minor performance quirks.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Heavy, durable construction
Heaviness is good. Stainless steel is easy to clean.
Our All-Clad is 40+ yo and still looks and works great.
Yes. Girlfriends come and go but top quality cookware is forever.
Yep, those all-clad will 100% outlast that relationship too.
Excellent for drippings and gravy
To answer your specific question, the pan will be better for drippings and gravy.
Long-term dishwasher durability observed with moderate use
I’ve been dishwashing a few All Clad pans for almost a decade now and haven’t had problems.
Never a problem in going on 20 years.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Uneven heat distribution and slow cooking performance
What we thought would be a frequently used wedding gift has turned into a $200 dust collector taking up space in our cabinets!
It didn't distribute heat evenly, which caused my food to cook unevenly - sometimes taking an absurd amount of time!
Non-stick rack coating issues
the rack in non-stick and has started peel.
Difficult to clean stainless steel surfaces
I love the AC, they’re just more work than they should be.
The trade-off is between superior cooking qualities and a bit more elbow grease during cleanup.
I love my all-clad but they never look great with just soap, water and sponge.
Those are a bear to clean.
Design issues: non-nonstick surface and unsafe rim
She doesn't like the handles, she doesn't like the weight, she doesn't like that they aren't nonstick, and she cut herself on the rim.
Nonstick coating limitations on hard-anodized roasting pan
My only reservation about yours is that it's non-stick, which I'm not a fan of.
I mean yeah this one is nonstick, which I doubt I can use on my gas range.
Nonstick is, imo, only useful for my egg pan. :)
On All-Clad's website it says that the hard anodized nonstick roaster is only oven safe up to 500 degrees.
Dishwasher safe labeling issues lead to pan damage
The abrasives in dishwasher detergent erode the cladding seam at the rim of the pan, allowing water intrusion and corrosion of the inner aluminum layers.
I'll sit here happily knowing that the all-clad collection I received as a wedding gift is slowly dying in my ex's dishwasher.
I’ve noticed that the all clad pans of someone I know are looking kind of weird… kind of grayish and brittle.
It's not the heat. It's the abrasives in the dish detergent formula that erode the cladding seam at the rim.
Uncomfortable handle design detracts from usability
It's a shame the All Clad's have this problem.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Durability, longevity, and consistent performance of All‐Clad cookware
All Clad truly is BIFL stuff. Make the minimum effort to clean and maintain your stuff and they will last long enough to become heirlooms.
I love my All Clad.
They seem to get better with age.
It's amazing sturdy cookware.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Alternative replacement rack recommendations
I use the Made In one, all stainless.
Amazon has them for $19.56 Just search 'all clad roasting pan rack replacement.'
Alternate use as water bath for desserts
They do make an ideal water bath for making creme broulee, though.
Cooking techniques for achieving nonstick performance in stainless steel pans
With this new knowledge I can finally banish all non stick pans out of my life.
Afaik people aren't trying to hover their steak above the surface on an air cushion of vaporizing moisture.
I think they’re confusing Leidenfrost testing with the food cooking.
The point of the post is that you shouldn't add your food at leidenfrost effect temperature.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Proper preheating and temperature control are key to avoiding food buildup on stainless pans
It took me about a month to understand it well, but I'm glad I took the time to learn how to cook with stainless steel and cast iron.
learned the hard way and had the wife inform me, preheat and test to make sure hot enough before placing anything in the pan.
I still struggled after preheating exactly to their instructions, but recently I got an infrared thermometer to know when the pan exactly hits 200°F and it has helped tremendously.
Friends thought I was crazy when I got a infrared thermometer for my SS pans, as I was struggling a little, as well.
Price and discount discussion for All-Clad products
If you want to splurge nonetheless, you can get an extremely solid roasting pan from Vollrath for maybe $50-60 that will last you your entire lifetime.
Scored a $300 stock pot for $59.
Personally I don't think a roaster should be a high ticket item.
The All Clad roaster is about that price retail so wait for sales at regular retail storefronts and it will be cheaper.
Effective cleaning techniques for stubborn stains
I saw another post where someone used barkeepers friend and a handheld steamer to stream around the nooks and crannies with great results.
First use more fats in any SS pans.
High price versus quality trade‐off with opportunities for discounts
Is All Clad worth it? I do like the pieces better in the all clad set more than the Goldilocks set but as a home cook I think both sets can get the job done for me.
You pay the price for All-Clad because it’s a proven winner and you know you’re getting quality.
With that said, my 25 dollar winco pan will last just as long.
Def worth it.
Effective cleaning techniques for stainless steel cookware
It has taken on a very nice shine, and I can cook eggs with no sticking.
An unholy amount of bar keepers friend and a sponge.
I think there's a trick with vinegar or something.
Yeah cranberry is acidic, anything acidic should be capable of cleaning the oxidation on some level.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Dishwasher issues may be inherent to stainless clad pans in general
They're fine if you hand wash them.
Mauviel don't like the dishwasher any more than the All-Clads.
Household dishwashing habits impact pan longevity
My kids typically rotate loafing or unloading the dishwasher but they tend to leave the pots for me.
